They say...

We built the E-Revo for 6S brushless power right from the start. For other companies, brushless ready means just making some nominal provisions for battery and motor installation and letting the aftermarket develop the upgrades necessary to make it survive. Not Traxxas. We heard the call for more power so E-Revo was tested tough for durability with brutal 6S LiPo power and intense custom wound brushless motors. For the uninitiated, this extreme 65+mph motor and battery combination is ordinarily a predictable recipe for a box full of twisted and mangled parts. Not so with the E-Revo Brushless Edition. E-Revo’s driveline has been engineered to endure the kind of horsepower and punishment that’s possible with today’s motor and battery technology. It looks factory because it is factory, complete with a separate motor plate for clean, low-slung single motor installation.
We say...

What can we say about this truck other than we love it, the Erevo Brushless is not cheap, and thats probably its only downfall, but if you can afford it, you will not be disappointed.  Using the Mamba Max system, a 2200kv motor and ESC from Castle Creations this truck is insanely fast when combined with 6S LiPo power.  Actually a good set of 2S packs is probably more sensible for day-to-day running.

The truck looks amazing with its low stance and F1 style inboard suspension system using internal shocks activated using push rods and interchangeable rockers.  The transmission is up rated to handle the extra torque of the brushless system.  Although you might want to consider the aftermarket drive shafts to make it truly bullet proof if you run 6S a lot.

This truck handles superbly, able to cope with all but the harshest of off-road conditions.  It jumps well but the lower stance that gives you that extra stability is at the expense of taking really big air.
The aftermarket for the Erevo brushless is starting to hot up now with some option parts that are well worth considering, more on these is feature in our tuning and hop-up guide.

Our verdict

The negatives first, this is not a cheap truck, Traxxas know it is popular and with the Castle creations Mamba system you are going to pay a lot for this truck off the shelf.  The A arms are a weak point but option parts are now about and sometimes its better to break a cheap part than something more expensive.  We’d also say this is not a racing machine, more the ultimate basher, not that it can’t be made into one heck of a racer if that’s what you want.
On the plus side, it looks great, handles well and goes like a scolded cat on 6S.  Our ultimate bashing machine.
